Celebrating New Life and Shaping the Future of Amberley

This month at Amberley Care Home, we’ve had the pleasure of celebrating not only new life but also the strength of our resident community. From a joyful baby shower to a unique group interview session with resident involvement, it’s been a month full of warmth, laughter and meaningful moments.

We began by holding a special baby shower as two members of our wonderful care team are either welcoming or awaiting the arrival of their little ones. One colleague recently gave birth to a beautiful baby, while another is preparing for her own bundle of joy in the upcoming weeks. The lounge was filled with colourful decorations, cheerful music, thoughtful gifts and plenty of smiles as residents and staff came together to celebrate.

The celebrations didn’t stop there. This month, we also took an important step in shaping the future of our care team by hosting a group interview session for prospective Care Assistants. What made this recruitment day so special was the involvement of one of our lovely residents, who took part in the process and brought a personal touch to the interview. Her presence added a sense of warmth and offered genuine insight into what daily life at Amberley feels like for those we support. With her natural charm and thoughtful perspective, she helped ensure that the people we considered for the role understood the values that matter most to us, including kindness, patience and compassion.

Both events have brought a renewed sense of togetherness to the home. The baby shower reminded us of the joy that comes with celebrating life’s milestones, while the group interview demonstrated the strength of including our residents in meaningful ways. Our resident interview panellist said how proud she felt to take part, and those being interviewed expressed how valuable it was to hear directly from someone they might one day be supporting.

These moments reflect the heart of our home, as we strive to make Amberley a place where relationships matter, where we uplift each other and where everyone has a voice. Whether we’re welcoming new life or new team members, our approach always centres on compassion, inclusion and community spirit.
