VE Day BBQ, Staff Appreciation Week and Employee of the Month!
At Amberley, we have recently come together to celebrate the people who make our home so special. This includes both our wonderful residents and dedicated team, and May was a month that perfectly captured our values and community.
To kick off the month, we hosted Staff Appreciation Week, which was a heartfelt gesture to say thank you to the team who go above and beyond each day. Each staff member received a personal gift as a token of gratitude, and we treated them to both breakfast and dinner throughout the week. These small but meaningful acts reinforced our warm and positive atmosphere, and it was clear how much the appreciation meant. Laughter filled the air as the team enjoyed their meals together, and it was lovely to see so many smiles shared among colleagues.
We also recognised Helen, our fantastic receptionist, as Employee of the Month. Helen is the friendly face that welcomes everyone who walks through our doors, and her dedication, warmth and kindness are felt by residents, relatives and staff alike. Her recognition was truly well-deserved, and the team was thrilled to celebrate her.
Later in the month, our garden was filled with music and laughter during our VE Day BBQ Celebration, where residents, families and staff gathered to commemorate a key moment in British history. The sunshine matched the mood as everyone enjoyed delicious food, patriotic decorations and a fantastic live performance from Tickled Pink Productions. Their nostalgic set brought back cherished memories for many, and the sound of familiar wartime songs had everyone tapping their toes and singing along.
The combination of thoughtful staff appreciation and meaningful resident celebration brought a real sense of unity to our home. There was a strong feeling of connection throughout the month, not just between staff and residents, but among families and visitors too.
