Exercise For Our Residents

This month we arranged for some armchair exercise sessions for our residents as well as one-to-one room visits for our Nursing residents. The benefit of these armchair exercises is having that gentle exercise to keep our residents active, maintaining strength. Learning a repetitive routine can be really good for our residents, especially our Dementia patients as it increases circulation and promotes confidence. We will ensure that the armchair exercise sessions will be continuing every other week throughout the year.

We've also brought back drumming afternoons here at Amberley Care Home. Drumming has always been popular for our residents and this is an extension of our Music Therapy sessions which will also be held once every other week. Our first drumming afternoon was highly successful, lots of fun drumming, singing, dancing and of course, lots of laugher.

We're excited to announce a future event, as we're currently organising a Burns celebration! The bagpiper is booked and decorations are at the ready. Our residents will also be making their own shortbread, decorations and decorating the home. Plus, you can't be celebrating Burns without Neeps and Tatties!
