Our Very Own Ice-Cream Man, Hugh!

On the 6th of February, the residents received a special visit from Hugh, Amberley Care Home’s very own ice-cream truck. Hugh often does the rounds every shift ensuring all of the residents are treated to well-deserved ice cream of their choice with the option of sprinkles, sauce, and a chocolate flake. 

Hugh was overwhelmed with the joy and pleasure of the residents as they enjoyed their ice creams, of which he will be sure to make a return soon!

The ice-cream truck is a great way to bring joy to our residents and evokes fond memories from previous years. It is also the perfect opportunity for our residents to socialise with one another and reminisce about their experiences with their local ice cream van from bygone years.

Small treats like this have become more and more important after the impact of COVID. It gives residents a dash of normality, independence, and a home from home experience. 

At Amberley Care Home our devoted team work hard on ensuring that no two days are the same for our residents. Whether we are surprising the residents with visits from Hugh the Icecream man, celebrating the National Chocolate Day, or hosting Tuck Shop Afternoons, there is always something for our residents to look forward to that is guaranteed to brighten up their day.

Many of our residents at Amberley Care Home maintain their independence in different ways. Some prefer utilising the fantastic facilities such as experiencing the Contemporary Cinema Room, getting pampered in the Hair and Beauty Salon, or even taking a relaxing stroll in the charming and Secure Private Gardens.
