At Amberley Care Home in Sale, we have four former police officers who served during the era when Hillman Imps were in use as patrol cars.
We were honoured to receive a visit from Paul Fairclough, who brought along his very own Hillman Imp Panda car. This visit held a special significance for our residents, especially for those who are retired police officers. Paul's thoughtful gesture made the visit even more memorable as he generously gifted each of them a Police Memorial Badge, adding a meaningful touch to this wonderful experience.
During the visit, our residents had the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the various types of hats worn by police officers and delve into the historical context of the car that Paul brought with him. Paul provided an insightful and comprehensive presentation about the police force during that specific period, giving our residents a deeper understanding of its evolution.
This unique and valuable experience provided our residents with knowledge of the time and context in which these iconic vehicles were utilised for law enforcement. It was a fantastic and fun experience that allowed us to take a nostalgic journey back in time, evoking the memories and experiences associated with these classic patrol cars and the period of time that they were used.
Our team was actively engaged in the experience, not only absorbing this information but also thoroughly enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and camaraderie as everyone enthusiastically participated in a lighthearted photo shoot, creating fun and cherished memories together.
