Celebrating International Flower Day
On January 19th, the flower enthusiasts at Amberley Care Home took part in a flower-arranging session to celebrate International Flower Day.
International Flower Day this year happened to fall on a particularly cold and snowy day here in Sale, Manchester. To celebrate, some of our residents who are fond of flowers took part in a flower-arranging session.
It was a great way to combat the cold, as it made everyone look forward to Spring and seeing the flowers naturally come into bloom.
With a selection of roses, tulips, lilies, gypsophila, and carnations our residents made wonderful displays that they were quite rightly very proud of.
Flower-arranging is a fantastic type of craft that allows residents to be creative as well as helps them engage their hands, fingers, and minds, and is a great stress reliever.
What's more is that it is an activity best enjoyed with others, and it was lovely for our residents to spend this time together, speaking about their favourite flowers and admiring each other's work.
It was so lovely to see each resident's unique and beautiful bouquets, which are now lovingly displayed around our care home.
