Every year, the staff and residents at Amberley Care Home like to participate in fundraising for Children in Need.
Children in Need is an annual charity appeal run by the BBC in order to raise funds for disadvantaged children. For the last 42 years, the appeal has been televised, and many organisations across the UK, including schools, health services, and businesses participate with their own fundraisers.
This is a charity event that we take part in every year, and this year, we hosted a teddy bear's picnic for our residents, and the staff came in dressed in their pyjamas.
The picnic took place at lunchtime and our fantastic chef and catering team put together a wonderful spread of sandwiches, vol au vents, macaroni cheese, a cheese platter, cupcakes, profiteroles, fruit, and much more.
The money raised is distributed to organisations and projects around the UK that strive to ensure children and young people feel safe and supported. We are delighted to have raised funds with our teddy bear's picnic which will be contributed to the fantastic cause.
The residents and staff at Amberley are extremely passionate about fundraising and helping those in our local community, and it's also a great way to bring staff, residents, and relatives closer together.
